IDEM Office of Water Quality, Assessment Branch Monitoring Programs

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management's (IDEM's) Assessment Branch has a suite of monitoring programs to collect data required for the assessment of Indiana's waters for:

  • compliance with Indiana Water Quality Standards,
  • determination of fish consumption advisories, and
  • detection of overall water quality trends. 

 

To accomplish their goals, IDEM monitors a variety of parameters and indices listed in the table below.  The corresponding methods for field sampling and laboratory analysis are either described or linked to published documents.
